The past few months have marked a watershed for Give A Child Life. Our monthly commitments in both El Salvador and Kenya are increasing rapidly. Trips last spring really opened our eyes to the needs. After more than a year of working in both communities, trust levels had risen. Families and local community leaders were more open in identifying their problems and we, frankly, were more ready to listen. Our grand ideas of brand-new, impeccable child care centers had been replaced with serious consideration of how to improve existing resources and build up local assets.

Now a more genuine dialogue has developed with both countries. As we expand our support, we're also putting in place accountability measures and tracking systems to ensure that your funds are spent appropriately and wisely.

The bottom line is that we moved in response to children's urgent needs. We found children who were sick, dying and very hungry. Today at least two little boys are alive because people like you cared and helped them. Now we know many more children who are waiting for our help. We're hoping that you will do what you can.
