| Share The Vision For desperately poor families in urban slums, every day is a struggle for survival. Worn down by hunger and diseases such as AIDS, single mothers must work and care for their children. Often they cannot possibly do both--so they leave their little ones locked at home, alone. Their children suffer constantly from hunger and sickness. As a result, thousands die every day—one every 4 seconds. Their deaths are a silent, global tragedy that must be stopped.. The mission of Give A Child Life (GCL) is to help save the lives of the world's most vulnerable young children. GCL provides urgently needed food, medicines, child care, and vital necessities to children five and under in developing countries to ensure their survival and facilitate their physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth. GCL also helps parents, especially single mothers, better care for their families and develop the resources to eventually break free from the cycle of poverty.
