Images From Kiandutu

Schools in the slum of Kiandutu, Kenya have no money for educational materials to illustrate different words, sounds, and numbers. Teachers make do with what they have, which is very little. Most create their own learning devices, drawing or stitching letters and images onto scraps of cardboard or old rice sacks. The result is a sad but beautiful display of how these desperately poor children come to understand their world.
